 CIS Co-Sponsoring Conference on Combatting Human Trafficking

The Center for Immigration Studies is co-sponsoring the 4th Annual Conference to Combat Human Trafficking on July 22-24, 2025, together with Sam Houston State University’s Institute for Homeland Security.

This three-day event brings together law enforcement, researchers, practitioners, and technology experts to:

  • Present groundbreaking research and technologies combating human trafficking and smuggling.

  • Identify future research needs and develop actionable strategies and tech-based solutions to support law enforcement, health services, and NGOs.

Open to law enforcement, public health officials, researchers, intelligence analysts, and anti-trafficking organizations. Advance registration required by July 1, 2025.

Jessica Vaughan, the Center’s director of policy studies and a trafficking expert, said, “The 2025 Conference Agenda is another three days packed with presentations offering new insights on this old, but still festering problem.” Vaughan’s presentation will focus on labor trafficking in work visa programs, and others will speak on avoiding hiring government contractors who use trafficked labor, illuminating trafficking through data-drive insights, remedies for victims of trafficking, trafficking of African illegal immigrants to the U.S., and more.
